Enter the licence key from your purchase email. You need an internet connection once; after that the app works offline.
One key works on a limited number of devices. Lost your key? Check your purchase email or contact the seller.
NRI Money Planner is an independent budgeting tool. It does not give financial, investment or tax advice, and figures are for your own planning only.
Amounts, exchange rates and investment values are whatever you enter or fetch, and may be wrong or out of date. Check anything important with your bank or a qualified adviser.
Your data stays on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere, except exchange rates fetched when you tap Update rates. Download a backup regularly, because clearing browser data erases it.
Do you pay UK tax? The tax estimate covers UK income tax only, so it is hidden if you choose No. You can change this later in the Data tab.
Totals are in your base currency, set under Accounts. Edit a budget to change it; budgets repeat every month. Money moved into a savings or investment account counts as saved, not spent. Bars turn amber at 85% and red when over.
Download a CSV from your online banking, choose the account it belongs to, then pick the file. It is read on your device and nothing is uploaded.
Categories are guessed from the description, so check them. Transfers between your own accounts will import as income or expense; delete those and record them as transfers instead.
Entries you mark as repeating are added automatically each month when you open the app, including any months you missed. Amounts you change here apply to future months only.
Add an investment as an account (type Investment), in its own currency, for example rupees for SIPs, PPF, EPF or fixed deposits in India. Record money you put in as a transfer to it. Update "Value now" whenever you check the market value; contributions added after that raise the value automatically.
Record interest and fees charged as an expense on the card or loan account (category Interest and fees). Record each repayment as a transfer to it.
Any transfer between accounts in different currencies shows here with the rate you actually got. Record the amount sent and the amount received.
A rough estimate in pounds, for planning only. Enter gross figures for the UK tax year. Your salary entries are usually take-home pay, so type your gross salary below.
Rates are for 2026/27 and should be checked against gov.uk before you rely on them. Scottish rates differ. Rental income, overseas income and Indian tax are not covered, and an NRI's UK tax position can depend on residence and tax treaties, so check with a tax adviser. This is not tax advice.
On a phone, a backup opens your Share menu, so you can save it to Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive, or email it to yourself. Everything is saved on this device only, in this browser. Clearing site data or switching phone removes it, so download a backup now and then.
The estimate covers UK income tax only. Leave this off if you pay tax elsewhere.
Removes everything this app has stored on this device: entries, accounts, settings and the lock. Make a backup first, because this cannot be undone.
Hides the app behind a 4 to 6 digit PIN when you open it or come back after a minute away. It does not encrypt your data, so keep your phone's own lock on too.
